Should I have a break from wearing nails?
Some people may tell you that you need to give your own nails a break "to allow them to breathe"
This isn't actually true.
The truth is nails don't breathe.
100% of the oxygen that your nails need comes from your bloodstream.
There is absolutely no reason, and no benefit to your own nails, by having your extensions or gel coatings removed.

So, why do your nails feel soft after you've had gel or acrylic on them?
When you have any type of coating on your nails the moisture and oils that your body produces passes from the nail bed through the nail plate at a slower rate than normal. The moisture level in your nails actually increases by anything between 10% and 15%
